مصحف الثريا

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ غَرْقًۭا ۝١

By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence;

وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشْطًۭا ۝٢

By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed);

وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبْحًۭا ۝۳

And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy),

فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ سَبْقًۭا ۝٤

Then press forward as in a race,

فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًۭا ۝٥

Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord),

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ ۝٦

One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion,

تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ ۝۷

Followed by oft-repeated (commotions):

قُلُوبٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَاجِفَةٌ ۝۸

Hearts that Day will be in agitation;

أَبْصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٌۭ ۝۹

Cast down will be (their owners') eyes.

يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ ۝١۰

They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state?

أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمًۭا نَّخِرَةًۭ ۝١١

"What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?"

قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًۭا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌۭ ۝١٢

They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"

فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ ۝١۳

But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry,

فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ ۝١٤

When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment).

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ ۝١٥

Has the story of Moses reached thee?

إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى ۝١٦

Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:-

ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ ۝١۷

"Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds:

فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ ۝١۸

"And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?-

وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ ۝١۹

"'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'"

فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْءَايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ۝٢۰

Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign.

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ ۝٢١

But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance);

ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ ۝٢٢

Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah).

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ ۝٢۳

Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation,

فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۝٢٤

Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High".

فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ ۝٢٥

But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life.

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةًۭ لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ ۝٢٦

Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah).

ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا ۝٢۷

What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? (Allah) hath constructed it:

رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا ۝٢۸

On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection.

وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا ۝٢۹

Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light).

وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ ۝۳۰

And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse);

أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا ۝۳١

He draweth out therefrom its moisture and its pasture;

وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا ۝۳٢

And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;-

مَتَٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ ۝۳۳

For use and convenience to you and your cattle.

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ۝۳٤

Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),-

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ ۝۳٥

The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for,

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ ۝۳٦

And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,-

فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ ۝۳۷

Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds,

وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۝۳۸

And had preferred the life of this world,

فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ ۝۳۹

The Abode will be Hell-Fire;

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ ۝٤۰

And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires,

فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ ۝٤١

Their abode will be the Garden.

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا ۝٤٢

They ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time?

فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ ۝٤۳

Wherein art thou (concerned) with the declaration thereof?

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ ۝٤٤

With thy Lord in the Limit fixed therefor.

إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا ۝٤٥

Thou art but a Warner for such as fear it.

كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا ۝٤٦

The Day they see it, (It will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn!
