مصحف الثريا

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ ۝١

By the night as it envelops;

وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ ۝٢

And by the day as it appears in brightness;

وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ ۝۳

And by Him Who created male and female;

إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ ۝٤

Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes);

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ ۝٥

As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him,

وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۝٦

And believes in Al-Husna.

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ ۝۷

We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness).

وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ ۝۸

But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient.

وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۝۹

And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote);

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ ۝١۰

We will make smooth for him the path for evil;

وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ ۝١١

And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction).

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ ۝١٢

Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance,

وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْءَاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ ۝١۳

And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world).

فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًۭا تَلَظَّىٰ ۝١٤

Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell);

لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى ۝١٥

None shall enter it save the most wretched,

ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ۝١٦

Who denies and turns away.

وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى ۝١۷

And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell).

ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ ۝١۸

He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification,

وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍۢ تُجْزَىٰٓ ۝١۹

And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,

إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ۝٢۰

Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High;

وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ ۝٢١

He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise).
