مصحف الثريا

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ۝١

By the sun and his morning bright-ness,

وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ۝٢

By the moon, when she followeth him,

وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ۝۳

By the day when it glorifieth him.

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا ۝٤

By the night; when it envelopeth him,

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ۝٥

By the heaven and Him Who builded it,

وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا ۝٦

By the earth and Him Who spread it forth,

وَنَفْسٍۢ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا ۝۷

By the soul and Him Who propertioned it,

فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا ۝۸

And inspired it with the wickedness thereof and the piety thereof,

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا ۝۹

Surely blissful is he who hath cleansed, it,

وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ۝١۰

And miserable is he who hath buried it.

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ ۝١١

Thamud belied in their exorbitance.

إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا ۝١٢

What time the greatest wretch of them rose up.

فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا ۝١۳

Then the apostle of Allah said Unto them: beware of the she-camel of Allah and her drink.

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا ۝١٤

Then they belied him, and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal.

وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا ۝١٥

And He feared not the consequence thereof
