بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ ۝١

The Hour hath drawn nigh, and the moon hath been rent in sunder.. And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous.

وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ ءَايَةًۭ يُعْرِضُوا۟ وَيَقُولُوا۟ سِحْرٌۭ مُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ ۝٢

And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: "magic continous"

وَكَذَّبُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍۢ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ ۝۳

And they belied, and they followed their lusts; and every affair cometh to a final goal.

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ ۝٤

And assuredly there hath come Unto them tidings wherein is a deterrent.

حِكْمَةٌۢ بَٰلِغَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ ۝٥

Wisdom consummate. But warnings avail not.

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىْءٍۢ نُّكُرٍ ۝٦

Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the sum- moner Will summon mankind Unto a thing unpleasant.

خُشَّعًا أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌۭ مُّنتَشِرٌۭ ۝۷

With looks downcast they will come forth, from the tombs, as though they were locusts scattered abroad.

مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌۭ ۝۸

Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult.

۞ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجْنُونٌۭ وَٱزْدُجِرَ ۝۹

There belied before them the people of Nuh. So they belied Our bondman Nuh and said: `a madman;' and moreover he was reproven.

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَغْلُوبٌۭ فَٱنتَصِرْ ۝١۰

Thereupon he prayed Unto his Lord: verily am overcome, so vindicate me.

فَفَتَحْنَآ أَبْوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍۢ مُّنْهَمِرٍۢ ۝١١

Then We opened the portals of heaven with water poured out.

وَفَجَّرْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ عُيُونًۭا فَٱلْتَقَى ٱلْمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍۢ قَدْ قُدِرَ ۝١٢

And We made the earth break forth with springs; SO that the water met for an affair already decreed.

وَحَمَلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَٰحٍۢ وَدُسُرٍۢ ۝١۳

And We bare him on a thing of planks and nails.

تَجْرِى بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَآءًۭ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ ۝١٤

Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected.

وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَٰهَآ ءَايَةًۭ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ ۝١٥

And assuredly We left it for a sign. Is there then anyone who would be admonished?

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ۝١٦

So how dreadful have been My torment and My warning!

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ ۝١۷

And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished?

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌۭ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ۝١۸

And there belied the 'A-ad; so how dreadful have been My torment and warning!

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًۭا صَرْصَرًۭا فِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍۢ مُّسْتَمِرٍّۢ ۝١۹

Verily We! We sent against them a raging Wind On a day of calamity continuous.

تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍۢ مُّنقَعِرٍۢ ۝٢۰

Carrying men away as though they were trunks of palm-trees uprooted.

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ۝٢١

So how dreodful have been My torment and My warning.

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ ۝٢٢

And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is therethen any one who would be admonished!

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ۝٢۳

And the Thamud belied the warnings.

فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرًۭا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدًۭا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذًۭا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ وَسُعُرٍ ۝٢٤

And they said: a mere humanbeing from amongst us, and single! shall we follow him! verily then we should fall in error and madness.

أَءُلْقِىَ ٱلذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌۭ ۝٢٥

Hath the Admonition been laid upon him from amongst us! Aye! he is a liar insolent.

سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًۭا مَّنِ ٱلْكَذَّابُ ٱلْأَشِرُ ۝٢٦

They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent.

إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةًۭ لَّهُمْ فَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْ وَٱصْطَبِرْ ۝٢۷

Verify We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience.

وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ ٱلْمَآءَ قِسْمَةٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍۢ مُّحْتَضَرٌۭ ۝٢۸

And declare thou Unto them that water hath been divided between them; every drinking shall be by turns.

فَنَادَوْا۟ صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ ۝٢۹

Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her,

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ۝۳۰

So how dreadful have been My torment and My warnings.

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ ۝۳١

Verily We We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold-builder.

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ ۝۳٢

And assuredly We have made the Qur'an eary for admanirion: is there then any one who would be admonished.

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ۝۳۳

The people of Lut belied the warnings.

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍۢ ۖ نَّجَّيْنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٍۢ ۝۳٤

Verily We! We sent upon them a gravel-storm save the household of Lut; them We delivered at early dawn.

نِّعْمَةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَن شَكَرَ ۝۳٥

As a favour from us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks.

وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا۟ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ۝۳٦

And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings.

وَلَقَدْ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِۦ فَطَمَسْنَآ أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ۝۳۷

And assuredly they solicited him for his guests: then We wiped out their eyes: taste then My torment and My warnings.

وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌۭ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ ۝۳۸

And assuredly there met them early in the morning a torment settled.

فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ۝۳۹

Taste then My torment and My warnings.

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ ۝٤۰

And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished.

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ ۝٤١

And assuredly Unto the household of Fir'awn came the warning.

كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَٰهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍۢ مُّقْتَدِرٍ ۝٤٢

They belied Our signs everyone thereof; whereof We laid hold of them with the grip of our Mighty, Powerful.

أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٌۭ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ ۝٤۳

Are your infidels better than these? Or is there an immunity for you in the Writs?

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌۭ مُّنتَصِرٌۭ ۝٤٤

Or is it that they say: we are a multitude prevailing!

سَيُهْزَمُ ٱلْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ ۝٤٥

Anon will their multitude be vanquished, and they will turn the back.

بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ ۝٤٦

Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ وَسُعُرٍۢ ۝٤۷

Verily the culprits shall be in great error and madness.

يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ ۝٤۸

On the Day whereon they shall be dragged into the Fire upon their faces, it shall be said Unto them: taste the touch of the Scorching.

إِنَّا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٍۢ ۝٤۹

Veriiy everything! We have created it by a measure.

وَمَآ أَمْرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٌۭ كَلَمْحٍۭ بِٱلْبَصَرِ ۝٥۰

And Our commandment shall be but one, as the twinkling of an eye.

وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَآ أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ ۝٥١

And assuredly We have destroyed your likes; so is there any one who shall be admonished?

وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍۢ فَعَلُوهُ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ ۝٥٢

And everything they have wrought is in the Writs.

وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍۢ وَكَبِيرٍۢ مُّسْتَطَرٌ ۝٥۳

And everything, small and great, hath been written down.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَنَهَرٍۢ ۝٥٤

Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and among rivers.

فِى مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍۢ مُّقْتَدِرٍۭ ۝٥٥

In a good seat, near a Sovereign Omnipotent.
