مصحف الثريا

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ۝١

By the sun and his morning brightness

وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ۝٢

and by the moon when she follows him,

وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ۝۳

and by the day when it displays him

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا ۝٤

and by the night when it enshrouds him!

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ۝٥

By the heaven and That which built it

وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا ۝٦

and by the earth and That which extended it!

وَنَفْسٍۢ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا ۝۷

By the soul, and That which shaped it

فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا ۝۸

and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing!

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا ۝۹

Prosperous is he who purifies it,

وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ۝١۰

and failed has he who seduces it.

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ ۝١١

Thamood cried lies in their insolence

إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا ۝١٢

when the most wretched of them uprose,

فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا ۝١۳

then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!'

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا ۝١٤

But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them:

وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا ۝١٥

and He fears not the issue thereof.
